Plan B
Will do some “bridge” treatments (chemo) 3 weeks apart for a while. To keep it from getting worse and destroying my bones. Then depending on insurance will try CAR T therapy where they take my T cells (autologous cells) and reprogram them to attack cancer.
They think that a clinical trial might open up in February that I would be eligible for. In that case, they would pivot to that. Allogenic T cells (off-the-shelf T cells from a donor, already programmed by CRISPR) for that. This is still CAR T therapy but would be quicker.
Using my cells would require them to be harvested from me, sent off to a lab, reprogrammed, grown enough to use, and then sent back. Time-consuming and more expensive.
Listening to Marc Cohn today.
